Heating and Cooling
The building is heated and cooled by a water source heat pump system. Supplemental heating is provided by perimeter electric radiation. All owners are able to control the temperature of their own units. A cooling tower, chillers, pumps, and the boiler plant are located in mechanical rooms in the upper levels and on the roof. The transformers, electric switchgear, emergency generators, and fire pump are located on the ground floor.
The building is fully equipped with a sprinkler and alarm systems hardwired to a central monitoring room adjacent to the front lobby area. Any activation of this system automatically notifies the Boston Fire Department. Standpipes with fire department connections are located at the stair cores. The stairs utilize a prssurization system to keep them smoke free in the event of a fire.
